Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo® Receives $20,000 Grant
Omaha, NE, Nov. 16, 2009 - The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has announced that Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo is the recipient of a $20,000 federal grant to participate in The Big Read initiative. This is the third year in a row that Omaha’s Zoo has been awarded this grant.
Edward Louis Jr. Nominated for the 2010 Indianapolis Prize
Omaha, NE, Nov. 13, 2009 - Edward Louis Jr, Ph.D., D.V.M., was recently selected as one of 29 animal conservationists nominated to receive the $100,000 Indianapolis Prize. Dr. Ed Louis, Director of Conservation Genetics, has been with Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo since 1996.
